KEMRI Community Health Worker - Migori, Homa-Bay, Kisii and Kisumu - Jobs in Kenya
Key Responsibilities
Collect accurate information from study participants in line with study protocol standards and guidelines.
Schedule and prepare work plans for follow‑up visits and reminders for study participants.
Report study‑related adverse events to supervisors.
Administer case report forms (CRFs) appropriately and ensure all interview questions are asked.
Check questionnaires for accuracy and completeness after interviews.
Maintain clean and comprehensive records of study visits and outcomes.
Conduct debriefing sessions with participants at the conclusion of interviews.
Adhere strictly to project deadlines for assigned duties.
Use motorcycles to carry out study‑related activities as assigned.
Ensure security, maintenance, and renewal of motorcycle license.
Remind participants of upcoming visits.
Conduct home visits for participants who miss scheduled appointments.
Attend weekly meetings punctually and report on work progress.
Work effectively as a team player.
Perform any other assigned or delegated duties by the Deputy Study Coordinator.
Fill in for site staff members when necessary.
Vacancy Requirements
Diploma in Community Health and Development, Nutrition, Social Work, or relevant qualification from a recognised institution (Mandatory).
Ability to ride a motorcycle and possession of a valid motorcycle license (Mandatory).
Proficiency in computer applications (Mandatory).
Ability to write brief reports and maintain records (Mandatory).
Excellent communication and organisational skills (Mandatory).
Three years of working experience as a counselor (Mandatory).
Strong interpersonal, communication, and listening skills (Mandatory).
Professional and ethical conduct with competence, accountability, and integrity (Mandatory).
Ability to foster trust and open communication with study participants (Mandatory).
Strong problem‑solving and communication skills (Mandatory).
Experience in participant follow‑up/tracing (Mandatory).
Experience working with infants (Mandatory).
Experience in HIV counseling (Mandatory).
Experience with data entry (Mandatory).
Prior experience working in a research environment (Mandatory).
