When viewing relevant ads, content or offers on their lockscreens or in-app, users earn points that they can use to purchase data, airtime, and premium content like music and video entertainment in the KEIPhone marketplace. They can also complete other in-app tasks like taking surveys, downloading apps and viewing videos to generate even more rewards.

KEIPhone is seeking a talented Digital Sales Manager. The purpose of the role is to launch

KEIPhone’s advertising proposition to the Uganda market, deliver advertising revenues and build a best in market Sales team. As an integral member of our executive team, you will lead a Sales Team team from inception to execution of digital ad campaigns that meet our clients’ objectives. Your team will drive ad sales revenue across our platform.

This role will suit a self-starter who wants to create the commercial strategy and ongoing market launch & presence of KEIPhone for Uganda, and support launch into neighboring markets.
The individual will have excellent relationships with key media agencies and advertisers that buy advertising directly from media owners as well as a proven track record in delivering significant ad revenues.

We are looking for an experienced, senior level social salesperson who has built and managed partner teams that have sold advertising directly to agencies and advertisers.
You must be authorized to work in Uganda to be considered for this role.

Reporting

This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer. The Digital Ad Sales Manager will oversee and manage the Sales teams.

Role Responsibility

  • Create and implement the strategy for the KEIphone advertising offering

  • Lead the go-to-market launch of KEIPhone advertising

  • Grow advertising revenues

  • Lead the Ad Sales Team

  • Responsible for setting the ratecard for advertising and sponsorships

  • Deliver against quarterly and annual revenue targets

  • Ensure all advertising campaigns adhere to KEIPhone Advertising Guidelines

    Your Day-to-day

  • Main point of contact for key accounts for digital campaigns from pre to post sale

  • Manage strategic media plans, proposal documents, capabilities presentations and pitch presentations to meet client objectives, goals, KPIs and ROI

  • Develop client profiles and assist with research of clients and industries

  • Attend sales calls & internal brainstorming sessions

  • Provide creative ideas to contribute to the delivery of innovative digital advertising solutions

  • Monitor all campaigns’ performance, and suggest improvements throughout the process

  • Partner with finance, content, and analytics teams to create reports for clients.

    Management

  • Manage the Sales Team to achieve departmental goals and objectives. Develop capacity building process for the Sales representatives and agents.

  • Establish and maintain a strong, positive and engaged team culture. Serve
    as a coach and mentor to staff empowering the team to achieve exceptional results.

  • Lead sales meetings to understand changes in the customer needs and inform updates in the sales priorities and solve sales interdepartmental challenges. Represent the sales team in strategic management meetings.

  • Align sales systems to financial systems, policies and procedures.

  • Work collaboratively with the other departments and team members to help nurture a results-driven team-orientated company culture.

  • Contributor and member of the Senior Management Team.

    Scope & Impact

  • Develop KEIPhone positioning and advertising packages

  • Manage the sales pipeline, forecasting and reporting to the CEO

  • Coordinate with the CTO, Operations Manager, Product Manager and CEO to identify areas or gaps, challenges and solutions within the sales process with the goal of increasing sales and advertising revenue.

    Relationships

  • Target agencies and clients to buy advertising directly from KEIPhone

  • Lead the Sales Team team in successful delivery and measurement of all campaigns

  • Deliver against assigned goals while prioritizing and delivering an excellent customer experience to Google's advertisers.

    Knowledge & Skills

  • Excellent knowledge of the advertising market

  • Strong contacts at media agencies / clients responsible for buying advertising including social and digital

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, able to build rapport and credible, trusted and strong working relationships.

  • Relevant experience in a sales or account executive position with a strong ability to focus on identifying a need or opportunity and tailor the messaging towards the business objectives

  • Have worked at and is willing to embrace the challenges and opportunities of a start-up environment

  • A strong eye for organization, process and being detail oriented while multitasking on numerous sales conversations at once

    Professional Experience

  • Proven experience in building and leading successful sales teams

  • Previous experience with negotiating and delivering against sales targets

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

  • Must have knowledge and understanding of digital video and advanced audience targeting

  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and/or Canva for building proposals & decks for clients

  • Must have knowledge and understanding of client campaign strategies

  • Strong problem-solving skills to address distribution, delivery, data and measurement needs.

  • Excellent presentation skills and ability to address both small and large groups.

  • Deep understanding of media landscape, services, and technologies
