KCB Bank Legal Counsel - Risk & Compliance Jobs in Kenya



Key Responsibilities

  • Review legislation, proposed bills, judicial decisions, best practice and market trends impacting the Bank, and advise on policy changes.

  • Analyse compliance requirements of existing, new and revised laws/regulations; support Bank compliance.

  • Conduct internal legal compliance audits and examinations.

  • Liaise with business units to mitigate identified legal risks and implement remedial action.

  • Update legal compliance checklists and matrices for reviews.

  • Provide legal support in research, drafting and review of Bank policies, product terms and conditions.

  • Manage Power of Attorney (PA) preparation, registration, revocation and records.

  • Verify Court Orders and provide guidance on implementation/execution.

  • Maintain and procure department reference materials; subscribe to Kenya Gazette, Legal Notices and Bills; ensure Laws of Kenya sets are updated.

  • Perform any other duties assigned.

    Minimum Position Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B).

  • Diploma in Law.

  • Advocate of the High Court.

  • At least 4 years’ post‑admission work experience in legal drafting, corporate/commercial law, dispute resolution and legal risk management.

  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
