KCB Bank Kenya Head - Business Origination Jobs;We are seeking a Head, Business Origination to lead the development and implementation of credit origination strategy, ensure sound credit decisions, and support corporate banking growth in line with KCB Group strategy.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and lead implementation of credit origination strategy aligned with Corporate Banking/KCB Group strategy

Evaluate credit appetite, deal structure, tenor, risk‑return relationship, and effectiveness of risk mitigants

Deliver well‑reasoned credit decisions within delegated sanctioning authority

Analyze credit applications to assess alignment with Bank’s Credit Appetite and profitability

Identify and manage high‑risk accounts; initiate corrective actions when risk profile is unacceptable

Provide oversight of facilities booked in Kenya from other KCB Group subsidiaries to ensure performance

Monitor covenants to ensure compliance with approval terms; present applications to relevant committees

Oversee compliance, AML, and sanctions requirements within Corporate Credit

Assist relationship managers in negotiating term sheets, ensuring deal structures meet credit requirements

Champion consistent, seamless, and trusted customer service to enhance retention and loyalty

Spearhead service delivery improvements and query resolution in collaboration with stakeholders

Qualifications & Experience

Academic

& Professional

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field (required)

Certificate in Commercial Credit (required)

Professional qualifications: CPA, ACCA, CFA, AKIB (advantageous)

Master’s Degree in Finance or Business‑related field (advantageous)

Experience

Minimum 10 years’ experience in the financial sector

Minimum 6 years’ experience in strategy development and implementation

Minimum 8 years’ experience in commercial acumen, sector knowledge, credit management, portfolio management, client experience, financial analysis, performance management, risk management, and compliance

Minimum 6 years’ leadership experience

Minimum 4 years’ project management experience
