Kakenya’s Dream Grants and Compliance Officer Jobs in Kenya; The Grants and Compliance Officer coordinates and manages the full grant lifecycle from proposal development and award through implementation, compliance, reporting, financial monitoring, and close‑out. The role serves as the organisation’s focal point for grants management and donor compliance, working closely with Programs, Finance, MEAL, and Communications to ensure donor‑funded projects are implemented in line with agreements, policies, and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Grants Management & Compliance
Administer assigned grants throughout the lifecycle, from award to close‑out.
Maintain grants management systems, agreements, reporting calendars, compliance trackers, and documentation.
Coordinate amendments, budget revisions, extensions, and close‑out activities.
Review donor requirements and support program teams in compliance.
Monitor adherence to donor regulations, safeguarding standards, and statutory requirements.
Support donor monitoring visits, audits, and corrective actions.
Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration through grant review meetings and milestone tracking.
Donor Reporting & Documentation
Coordinate preparation and timely submission of donor narrative and financial reports.
Compile and consolidate inputs from Program, Finance, and MEAL teams.
Track reporting schedules and ensure timely submissions.
Maintain central repository of reports, amendments, approvals, and correspondence.
Budget Monitoring & Financial Oversight
Work with Finance to monitor expenditure, budget utilization, and financial performance.
Identify and address budget variances.
Support revisions, reallocations, and donor approval processes.
Maintain financial records for audits and reviews.
Proposal Development & Resource Mobilization
Coordinate proposal development and submission timelines.
Compile inputs from Program, Finance, MEAL, and Procurement.
Review proposals for donor compliance.
Maintain templates, donor requirements, and funding opportunity
databases.
Knowledge Management & Continuous Improvement
Document lessons learned and best practices.
Support staff orientation and capacity building on grants management and compliance.
Contribute to development and review of tools, templates, and SOPs.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Finance, Development Studies, International Relations, or related field.
Professional certification in Grants Management, Project Management, or M&E an advantage.
3–4 years’ experience in grants management, donor compliance, proposal development, or program support.
Experience coordinating donor‑funded projects and managing institutional grants.
Strong knowledge of grants management principles and donor compliance.
Understanding of donor budgeting, monitoring, and reporting.
Excellent planning, coordination, and organisational skills.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with grants management systems an advantage.
