Job Description

Julphar Pharmaceuticals PLC is a joint venture between Gulf Pharmaceuticals Industries (Julphar) U.A.E and MEDTECH Ethiopia which is involved in the manufacturing of LIFE SAVING Drugs for the local Ethiopian market use as well as for export.

Julphar is looking for new candidates who can join a work team with big ambitions, potentials and commitment to improve the quality of life for our end customers.

Job information and Candidate specification

Under the guidance of Senior Microbiologist the junior microbiology analyst shall carry out the following duties:

Collects samples of raw materials, finished product, stability study product, Environmental and water according to the sampling SOP in sterile containers with aseptic precautions and maintains as such until the required test is conducted on them.

Prepares bacteriological culture media and sample containers according to the standard operating procedure (SOP) and makes them ready for use in microbiological tests.

Carries out microbial limit test and/or bio-assay as required on collected samples and report the results within

reasonable time.

Disposes off media and cultures after sterilizing, as necessary, in an environment friendly manner following procedures.

Participates in method and process validation activities by collecting samples and conducting tests as required.

Maintain hygiene and cleanliness of the working environment.

Obey safety rules and regulations.

Organised the laboratory.

Ensures compliance with cGMP and all regulatory guidelines.

Be flexible to work additional hours and on weekends (as required) to get the job done.

Perform other related activities upon the instruction of senior microbiologist and the section head.

Additional competencies:

Experience in manufacturing industry especially in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing is advantageous.

Job Requirements

Educational Qualification

BSc in Biology or Micro Biology

Minimum relevant experience

3 years relevant experience

Core competencies

Team player

Good Command of English.

Dedicated and willing to work under stressful condition

Good Communication and Interpersonal skills.

Knowledge of Good manufacturing Practice (GMP).
