Judicial Service Commission Registrar - Leadership Code Tribunal Jobs in Uganda

Minimum Qualifications & Experience:
  • Applicants must be Ugandan citizens holding a Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
  • Degree from a recognized University / Institution plus a Post Graduate
  • Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre or within the East African Region and should have a Post Graduate qualification in Management or Administration and or Financial Management.
  • In addition, the applicant should have served for a period of at least eight (8) years, two years of which should have been served as a
    Deputy Registrar, or its equivalent position in a reputable organization or institution.
  • Any post graduate qualification in a relevant field of study shall be of an added advantage.

    The office holder shall be responsible to the Chairperson in discharging the following duties:

  • To act as the Accounting Officer of the Tribunal
  • Be responsible for the day to day administration of the affairs of the Tribunal.
  • To manage the proper utilization and accountability of the Tribunal’s funds and resources.
  • To supervise the maintenance and ensuring the safe custody and proper utilization of the Tribunal’s assets and records.
  • To ensure that administrative support services are provided to the Tribunal Members.
  • To receive and register cases referred to the Tribunal by the Inspectorate of Government, and scheduling them for Tribunal hearing.
  • To issue and ensure service of summons and orders issued by the Tribunal.
  • To communicate the decision of the Tribunal to the authorized persons as provided under Section 20 of the Code (Amendment) Act, 2017.
  • To prepare annual and quarterly work plans and budget of the Tribunal, in consultation with the Tribunal Chairperson and Members.
  • In consultation with the Tribunal Chairperson, to organize the places at which the Tribunal may sit, where the sitting is outside Kampala, and provide logistical support for the sitting.
  • To supervise the human resources of the Tribunal, including appraisal of staff performance.
  • To act as the link between the Leadership Code Tribunal and the public, and handling all matters of public relations.
  • To maintain proper books of accounts and ensuring that they are subjected to annual audit by the Auditor General, and ensuring that the audited accounts, together with the annual
    reports of the Tribunal
    are submitted to Minister responsible for Ethics and Integrity not later than four months after the end of each Financial Year.
  • To discharge any other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the tribunal or any other authority.

  • Applications are invited from suitable and eligible Ugandans to fill the following vacant posts available at the Leadership Code Tribunal.
  • The Leadership Code Tribunal is established under section 19A of the Leadership Code (Amendment) Act 5 / 2017.
  • All applicants must be of high moral character, proven integrity and possess considerable experience and demonstrated competences and of high caliber in the
    conduct of Public affairs.
  • Applications on Public Service Form 3 (PSF3) should be submitted in triplicate to the Secretary Judicial Service Commission (JSC), Lotis Towers, 6Th – 8Th Floor P.O Box 7679, Kampala or online submissions in a single document can be sent to:
    applications2019@jsc.go.ug which should be received not later than 21st June 2019 at 5:00p.m. Applications should bear the title of the post applied for as well as the reference number specified against the vacancy.
  • Applicants should attach on each duly completed Form, a Curriculum Vitae (CV) containing the names and contacts of at least three (3)
    referees each for Professional and Character references.
  • A recent passport size photograph, copies of academic certificates and transcripts, a copy of the National ID and a birth certificate.
  • Applicants already in Public Service should attach a copy of their latest IGG acknowledged Declaration Certificate of Income, Assets and Liabilities where applicable.
