Constitutional and Statutory Requirements for Appointment

Pursuant to Section 11(I) of the Landlord and Tenant (Shops, Hotels and Catering Establishments Act CAP 301, a person to be appointed as a Business Premises Rent Tribunal must possess the following qualifications.

Hold a relevant bachelor’s degree in the relevant field from a university recognized in Kenya.

Qualification and experience in alternative dispute resolution will be an added advantage.

Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution on leadership and integrity.
