John Snow Inc Regional Coordinators: COVID-19 Vaccination Services Jobs in Zambia

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

• Collaborate with the provincial health Office on all matters of Covid-19 vaccinations in which the project is involved;

• In consultation with the Regional Director, work with the EPI Coordinator from the PHOs in the three SAFE supported provinces to effectively work with DHOs and facilities to ensure that Covid-19 vaccines are made available and accessible;

• Support the Regional teams to plan for training, retraining and mentorship of health workers and volunteers where this is absolutely needed;

• Provide support to Regional teams in areas of need as identified through facility supportive supervisory visits;

• Work with the Regional Director and Senior Advisor to coordinate all Covid-19 surveillance activities and anchor them in the GRZ programme through the PHO;

• Collate project data/information on Covid-19 from districts and facilities for analysis, interpretation and decision making and onward transmission;

• Support district and facility teams to develop and implement strategies and activities to optimize vaccine intake including but not limited to integrating vaccinations into pre-existing ART/TB services at facility level, Community outreach interventions as well as religious and traditional leadership structures.

• Any other tasks as assigned by the Regional Director and the Senior Advisor.

Desirable Qualifications and Competencies:

• Degree in Nursing, Public Health, Environmental Health, Public Health Nursing or Clinical Medicine with at least 5 years’ hands

on working experience in vaccinations and cold chain management for vaccines.

• An MPH is an added advantage;

• Registered with the Nursing Council of Zambia or HPCZ as appropriate;

• Experience in Covid-19 vaccination services management;

• Experience in vaccination and cold chain management

• Experience working in both urban and rural areas;

• Wide experience in mentoring teams;

• Ability to lead and work in teams including clinical mentoring facility teams;

• Good communication skills and personality appropriate for mentoring health workers and provide on the job training;

• Deep knowledge of both WHO and the Zambian Covid-19 guidelines;

• Able to work smoothly with MOH, PHOs, GRZ hospitals and District Health ART coordinators and private health facilities;

• Ability to multi-task efficiently and prioritize activities in support of Project goals and deadlines

• Willingness to support district and facility teams when called upon.
