Job Description

Peter Johnson Laboratories is a privately owned, independent laboratory offering boutique services and a range of analysis with on time turnaround times.

We are embarking on an upscaling of the business and would like to appoint a Laboratory Manager to join our dedicated team.

Working alongside the Technical Manager and her team of Analysts as well as the administrative support team, the Lab Manager will drive the current 17025 SANAS accreditation programme and take control of the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System and all supporting administrative functions such as resource planning, job costings, stock control, staffing and special projects pertaining to the upscaling.

The Laboratory Manager will also be responsible to client liaison.

The following will hold you in good stead for consideration:

Relevant tertiary qualification in Analytical Chemistry

Experience in a general commercial laboratory

Your knowledge of laboratory operations, method development and validation

Knowledge of instruments such as HPLC, GC and ICP

Solid work ethic, team orientation and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines such as client turnaround times and project timelines

Well organized in your work habits, with neat, orderly and traceable documentation

Ability to add to new business avenues
