Key Performance Areas

Debtor Maintenance

  • Allocation of daily receipts from customers and posting these to the customer accounts.

  • Ensure that all customer receipts are posted to the customer account within 48 hours of the amount appearing on the bank statement.

  • Dealing with internal queries about payments and ensuring customers pay on time.

  • Chase overdue invoices via telephone, email and letter within agreed timescales and to make notes on Syspro when calling your debtors.

  • Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity.

  • Regularly making contact with customers to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary and to follow up on queries.

  • Identify changes in payment patterns and propose action to avoid indebtedness.

    Cash Sales

  • Ensure that all transactions are compliant with Company’s policies and that all international payments meet reserve bank/customs regulatory requirements.

  • Provide accurate advice on billing queries undertake account reconciliations as required.

  • Respond promptly and completely to both client and internal enquiries.

  • Ensure monthly processing deadlines are met as required.

  • Liaise closely with the Sales/Telesales departments on cash sales, assisting in opening the account for fulfilment, and advising when cash is received in order to ship goods.

    Other

  • Providing ad-hoc reporting as and when requested by management.

  • Send out monthly client statements

  • If any customers stop paying or pay late then it’s your responsibility in liaison with the Senior Credit Controller to stop the providing services and take action to collect the money owed (which may be legal action if necessary) and in the case of business failure to report to management regarding strategies to make sure you can recover what you can.

  • You are required to ensure that all information in your custody are protected in terms of the POPI Act (Protection of Personal Information).

    Requirements

  • Matric is a minimum requirement

  • 3 to 5 years experience as a Credit Controller

  • Syspro is essential

  • Must be able to work on bookvalues up to R20million

  • Credit Management qualification will be an advantage

  • Strong and clear communication skills
