Job Summary

The auditor will add value and improve operations of the Commission by introducing a systemic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance process

The auditor reports directly to the commissioner and will have the following responsibilities:-

Develop internal audit scope and develop annual plans

Establish an internal financial control system and undertake regular quality control on financial reports to ensure accuracy and reliability

Perform the full audit cycle including risk management and control management over operations’ effectiveness, financial reliability and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations

Conduct timely implementation of risk-based internal audits as directed by the commissioner with annual audit plan

Conduct risk evaluation of projects within established timeframe

Implement internal audit tasks in areas of risk management and internal control

Perform all assigned audit assignment at financial, operational and administrative processes and systems

Evaluate internal audit suitability, efficiency, cost-effectiveness and internal controls effectiveness

Identify level of conformance with established rules, regulations, policies and procedures

Examine validity and reliability of financial, accounting and other data and report any deviations

Participate in audit engagement planning, reporting, scoping, execution and follow-up as defined

Identify

internal audit control environment enhancement opportunities

Conduct testing adhering with accreditation and varied regulatory requirements

Support development of internal audit programs for operational audits and special reviews

Ensure financial activities of the commission follow financial laws Verify assets and liabilities by comparing items to documentation. Complete audit work papers by documenting audit tests and findings

Communicate audit findings to the commissioner through audit reports

Report to the commissioner on undertakings, regularly or/and upon request

Undertake all other relevant activities assigned by the Director of Finance, Procurement, Property and General Services and/or the Commissioner

Job Requirements

Educational

BA or MA in Accounting
Mananger postion
