Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and security of Corporation staff, visitors, and assets.

  • Guide implementation of the Security Unit’s strategy, policies, and frameworks.

  • Oversee implementation of security processes across the Corporation.

  • Coordinate safety and security education and awareness programs.

  • Maintain key contact with external agencies to stay updated on current security issues.

  • Liaise with law enforcement agencies on investigations involving the Corporation.

  • Oversee updates of the daily occurrence book, incident reports, and breaches of security.

  • Provide leadership to security personnel in handling emergencies.

  • Guide security personnel on vehicle and visitor searches, ensuring registration per guidelines.

  • Oversee periodic security risk assessments in line with approved policies.

  • Coordinate development of operational and tactical security work plans, including shifts and assignments.

  • Review security policies and procedures to align with priorities.

  • Oversee development and review of the safety framework.

  • Coordinate safety and security training and awareness programs.

  • Assign security personnel to handle emergencies within the Corporation.

  • Ensure vehicle and visitor searches and registration are conducted per guidelines.

  • Coordinate rescue and evacuation in emergencies.

    Requirements

  • Nine (9) years of
    relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been at Senior Security Officer grade or equivalent.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminology or equivalent qualification from a recognised institution.

  • Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognised institution.

  • Membership to a relevant professional body where applicable.

  • Completion of a six (6) week Security Investigation Course at the CID Training School or equivalent training.

  • Proficiency in computer applications.

  • Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results.
