JKUAT Enterprises Deputy Director Fund Management Jobs in Kenya


Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide technical advice to management on insurance fund management, sustainability, investment options, and diversification strategies.

  • Formulate, implement, and review policies, strategies, guidelines, and procedures for fund management to ensure timely payment of protected deposits and increase coverage value.

  • Develop strategies for growth, management, and application of the Fund to promote public confidence and foster financial stability.

  • Provide strategic leadership to the Corporation’s Investment Committee to ensure prudent investment and steady fund growth toward the international target ratio of 3% of total deposit liability.

  • Ensure prudent fund investment to preserve capital, maintain liquidity, and ensure transparency and auditability of fund operations.

  • Guide application of risk‑based premium assessment tools to determine banks’ contributions and ensure timely, accurate invoicing and collection of insurance premiums.

  • Oversee production of regular reports on the fund’s status, performance, and projections to stakeholders.

  • Leverage innovation, technology, and business process re‑engineering to enhance service delivery and address emerging global trends.

  • Develop, implement, monitor, and review the Department’s strategic agenda, annual budgets, work plans, procurement plans, performance contracts, and periodic reports.

  • Implement Quality Management Systems and ISO Standards for efficiency, process improvement, and enhanced service delivery.

  • Coach, mentor, train, and develop departmental staff to ensure effective team performance.

  • Implement enterprise risk management policies and frameworks ensuring accountability, compliance, and business continuity.

  • Advise Government on fund and safety net matters focusing on
    financial stability.

  • Identify strategic collaborations and partnerships and develop resource mobilization proposals to grow the fund.

    Requirements

  • Fifteen (15) years of relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been at Assistant Director, Fund Management grade or equivalent.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics and Finance, or equivalent qualification.

  • Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics, Accounting, Finance, Actuarial Science, Economics and Finance, or equivalent qualification.

  • Professional Accounting qualification such as CPA (K) or equivalent.

  • Certificate in Leadership Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognised institution.

  • Membership to a relevant professional body in good standing where applicable.

  • Valid practicing certificate from a relevant professional body where applicable.

  • Proficiency in computer applications.

  • Demonstrated managerial, administrative, and professional competence in work performance and results.
