Java House Waitstaff - Diani Jobs in Kenya



The Waitstaff; role ensures guests are welcomed, seated, and served food and beverages in a friendly and timely manner, while maintaining a clean environment in line with Java House service standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Present menu options and lead suggestive selling based on customer preferences.

  • Handle customer interactions across multiple touchpoints.

  • Inform guests of menu changes and daily specials.

  • Take orders and deliver them neatly and accurately.

  • Present menus, answer questions and provide guidance on food and beverages.

  • Monitor guest dining experience, ensure satisfaction and escalate concerns to the manager.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure positive customer experiences.

  • Manage float money, ensure availability of change and timely closure of counter variances.

  • Present bills promptly and process payments.

  • Order items in Vuka, receive supplies and key in orders in POS.

  • Handle aggregator tabs, pack and dispatch orders.

  • Clear tables, clean counters and maintain hygiene standards.

  • Communicate repair/maintenance or IT issues to the Area Manager.

  • Perform branch closing duties.

    Qualifications

  • Ability to work under pressure and long hours.

  • Strong upselling skills and ability to inform guests about new menu products.

  • Team player with excellent customer orientation.

  • Proper planning and organizational skills.

  • Proficiency in Point of Sale systems.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, flexibility and adaptability.

  • Result‑oriented, self‑driven, articulate and proactive.
