Java House Senior Barista Jobs in Kenya



Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee all branch operations with a special focus on the barista counter.

  • Coordinate and supervise production and service of quality beverages and fresh bakery items.

  • Conduct branch‑level training to achieve coffee excellence and consistency among staff.

  • Manage trainee baristas through regular training, assessments, and evaluations.

  • Advise management on counter equipment performance and replacement needs.

  • Monitor branch food and beverage costs related to counter products.

  • Prepare and serve hot and cold drinks such as coffee, tea, artisan, and specialty beverages.

  • Handle customer interactions at various touch points.

  • Consistently follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) during production.

  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and functional counter at all times.

  • Conduct daily stock take of counter products at the end of each shift.

  • Collaborate with team members to ensure a positive customer experience.

  • Ensure sufficient supply of products for sale by maintaining adequate backup.

  • Dispense take‑away and dine‑in orders promptly according to order dockets.

  • Arrange and maintain cleanliness of the pastry case.

  • Reconfirm orders placed on Vuka.

  • Control wastages and ensure efficiency.

  • Ensure availability of change and maintain shift float
    money without shortages.

  • Close counter variances in a timely manner.

  • Take care of counter machines and equipment.

  • Ensure daily stock counts are done accurately.

  • Carry out any other tasks as instructed by the supervisor.

    Qualifications

  • Ability to think and make quick decisions under pressure.

  • Strong interpersonal and problem‑solving abilities.

  • Highly responsible and reliable.

  • Ability to work cohesively with colleagues as part of a team.

  • In‑house training in barista service.

  • Excellent customer care techniques and application.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
