Jacaranda Maternity Consultant Obstetrician/Gynaecologist Jobs in Kenya; The Consultant OB/GYN will oversee clinical quality, safety, and sustainability at the hospital while supporting expansion to new locations.

The role involves significant responsibility in transforming maternal and newborn healthcare in East Africa.

    What You Will Do

    Clinical Duties
  • Monitor and provide appropriate medical and surgical care.

  • Manage reproductive health clients in inpatient and outpatient settings.

  • Admit patients requiring special care, investigations, and treatment.

  • Perform operations and specialist investigations.

  • Oversee clinical practice of colleagues to ensure patient safety and efficiency.

  • Adhere to Jacaranda protocols and standards of care.

    Quality Assurance
  • Participate in regular meetings to assess quality and safety.

  • Lead or assist with improvement campaigns and projects.

  • Develop standards, protocols, and procedures.

  • Provide clinical expertise and continuing medical education.

  • Participate in clinical and operational meetings requiring consultant input.

    Business and People Management
  • Attend management meetings and represent the hospital externally.

  • Contribute to business strategy
    development and implementation.

  • Assist with scheduling OB/GYN coverage.

  • Mentor and manage performance of assigned staff.

  • Suggest new initiatives to improve medical services.

    Financial
  • Ensure efficient use of medical resources.

  • Optimize diagnostic and pharmacy utilization.

  • Provide medical services within budget, consulting with CEO and senior management.

  • Prepare reports and contribute to planning, budgeting, and development.

    Personal Education and Research
  • Stay updated with medical trends and technology.

  • Participate in educational sessions on budgeting, audit, appraisal, and quality control.

  • Engage in journal reviews with clinical staff.

  • Study medical literature regularly.

  • Attend postgraduate meetings and CME programs.
