Kirinyaga Water and Sanitation Company Ltd (KIRIWASCO) is a water and sanitation services
provider registered under the Company’s Act Cap 486 of laws of Kenya.


The Company is wholly owned by County Government of Kirinyaga (CGK) and is regulated by Water Services Regulatory Board (WASREB).
KIRIWASCO is mandated to supply water in the entire Kirinyaga county and parts of Embu
County

The Technical Manager will be responsible for setting the overall direction of the technical department and provide leadership within the context of the company’s overall strategic plan.

Responsibilities


  • Planning, designing and implementation of water projects
  • Reviewing and developing water production plans, strategies and establishing
    performance standards
  • Training water production and distribution personnel on new policies, procedures and
    strategies
  • Directing, coordinating, controlling and managing the company’s operations and
    maintenance of infrastructure to ensure that water and sanitation services are focussed to
    meet customer needs.
  • Developing long-term departmental strategies, policies and plans to facilitate
    achievement of overall company objectives
  • Manage and motivate staff to deliver high impact performance
  • Appraising technical department staffs as well as identifying their training and
    development needs.


    Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Water Engineering from a recognized university
  • Have at least 5 years’ experience in water sector preferably in a water utility, (3) three of which should be in a senior management position
  • The candidate should have a good demonstration of project design and management skills with adequate experience in operations and maintenance
  • Highly developed computer skills and especially computer aided designs
  • Demonstrate leadership, team building and communication skills with high ambitions for
    achievement.
  • Those registered by the Engineers Board of Kenya (EBK) and members of the Institution
    of Engineers of Kenya (IEK) will have an added advantage.
  • Applicants who are conversant with water sector reforms will have an added advantage.


    Candidates should provide prove of meeting the requirements of chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya on integrity by attaching copies of the following: -

  • Tax Compliance Certificate from the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
  • Clearance Certificate from the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
  • Clearance Certificate from the Ethics and Anti – Corruption Authority (EACC)
  • Certificate of Good Conduct from the Criminal Investigation Department(CID)
  • Clearance Certificate from accredited Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
