Islamic Relief Regional Finance Controller Jobs in South Sudan ;The Regional Finance Controller provides financial oversight, governance, assurance, compliance and capacity building across Islamic Relief’s country offices and implementing partners in West and East Africa.

This is a strategic leadership role combining oversight with practical delivery, strengthening financial management practices, building organisational capability and embedding the highest standards of financial stewardship across the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strengthen financial performance, governance, accountability and sustainability across country offices.

  • Provide financial oversight, assurance and compliance support to programmes and partners.

  • Mentor and coach regional finance teams, building capacity and capability.

  • Improve internal control frameworks, donor compliance and statutory obligations.

  • Support fraud prevention initiatives and financial risk management.

  • Deliver strategic financial insight, consolidated reporting and variance analysis.

  • Enhance transparency, accountability and decision‑making through hands‑on engagement.

  • Travel approximately 50% of the time to provide direct support to country offices and partners.

    Qualifications and Experience

    Essential

  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, ICMA or equivalent).

  • Significant senior‑level financial management experience in humanitarian, NGO or international non‑profit sector.

  • Experience leading financial governance, compliance and internal control across multiple entities.

  • Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and planning.

  • Experience producing consolidated accounts, variance analysis and strategic insight.

  • Proven donor compliance and statutory reporting experience.

  • Strong risk management, fraud prevention and control framework knowledge.

  • Experience leading,
    mentoring and developing finance teams.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Experience designing and delivering finance training and capacity building.

  • Fluency in English and French.

    Desirable

  • Experience managing donor‑funded programmes and institutional grant reporting.

  • Experience in fragile or conflict‑affected environments.

  • Knowledge of geopolitical, regulatory and socio‑economic contexts across Africa.

  • Experience supporting finance transformation and organisational change.

  • Experience working with implementing partners and sub‑grantees.
