Islamic Relief NGO Support Services Assistants Jobs in Wajir - Kenya

Established in 1984 in the UK, Islamic Relief is an international NGO seeking to promote sustainable economic and social development by working with local communities through relief and development activities.



We aim to help the needy regardless of race, religion or gender. Through working in chronic food deficit areas and in the most disadvantaged areas, IRK has ensured that its programmes target those who are most vulnerable in the most disadvantaged
areas.

These programmes include Health and nutrition, Water and Sanitation, livelihoods, Childwelfare and other special programmes (Qurbani and Ramadhan).


Responsibilities


  • Receiving of bids and ensuring the bid receipt forms are signed
  • Open a file for a procurement
  • Organizing for Wajir Office procurement Committee meeting & taking minutes
  • Maintains data on RFQs issued and received
  • Preparation of bid analysis and bid minutes
  • Receives supplies at FO and issuing GRN
  • Processing of payment
  • Coordinate dispatch of supplies to the field locations
  • Issue waybills for items being dispatched
  • Prepare and submit (weekly or monthly) reports on PRs raised, RFQs sent out, invoices received and items received/dispatched
  • Prepare payment requests
  • Photocopying and scanning of procurement documents
  • Management of vehicle/s i.e. fuelling, service and vehicle allocation
  • Support the PS in any other duty allocated
  • Support in HR & Admin duties
  • Coordination of IT and Security


    Qualifications:


    Desired:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Procurement / supplies management
    or Business Administration
  • Qualification from Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supplies (CIPS) or Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM)
  • At least 2years NGO experience in procurement management


    Person Specification

  • Degree in Procurement/ Business Administration or related field
  • Certification from CIPS/KISM
  • At least 2 years’ experience in SCM in an NGO set-up
  • Effective IT Skills (Word & Excel).
  • Communication, tact and negotiation skills.
  • Problem solving.
  • Flexible and patient.
  • Fluent in Written and spoken English.
