Commercial Director, Observer – Ipsos in Kenya

Job Purpose:

To manage and develop key client and prospective client accounts as well as playing a significant role in influencing the strategic direction of the business and ultimately driving profitable business growth.

  • Role Competence: To manage and develop the key client and prospective client accounts program, influence the strategic direction of the business, drive profitable business growth and display business acumen

    Activate

  • Make effective pricing decisions, based on experience, hard facts and knowledge
    Aid in the design of innovative, winning proposals in response to complex, challenging briefs
    Lead pitches on challenging briefs

    Build:

  • Ultimate accountability on all aspects of winning work and end to end relationships with clients

    Conduct:

  • Ultimate accountability for bringing new business into Ipsos Observer

    Deliver:

  • New business into Observer

    Embed

  • Accountable for ensuring project learnings are actioned
  • Identify opportunities for, and secure, further client work

    Financial: Commercial Drive

    Generate significant contribution to Ipsos Kenya in terms of:

  • Revenue from new clients
  • Profitability
  • Identify and implement ways of improving efficiency and profitability
  • Identify and act upon commercial opportunities
    Anticipate evolving/ new commercial trends and respond to them appropriately

    People: Performance Development

  • Drive the continuous development and career progression of staff in terms of their client facing skills
  • Play a part (with RDs) in the setting of clear, motivational and measurable development objectives for people and regularly review performance against these

    Contribution to Ipsos in Kenya

  • Communicate, advocate and implement the team and company strategy, business objectives and plans
    Play a key role in ensuring personal (and team members’) objectives actively support those of the wider team and wider company
  • Take into account the ‘bigger picture’ and think ‘longer term’ when making decisions
    Lead on corporate and / or team related initiatives
