Background:

  • IPPF is a global service provider and a leading advocate of sexual and reproductive health and rights for all. We are a worldwide movement of national organizations working with and for communities and individuals across 152 countries. IPPF aims to improve the quality of life of individuals by campaigning for sexual and reproductive health and rights through the provision of services and through advocacy, especially for poor and vulnerable people across the globe.

  • The German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) works to move forward cooperation with the international community to shape a positive, global future; it devises long-term strategies for cooperation with the various players concerned. In that optic, BMZ supports IPPF and its Member Associations in Burkina Faso (Association Burkinabe pour le Bien Etre Familial-ABBEF), in Togo (Association Togolaise pour le Bien Etre Familial -ATBF), and in Cameroon (Cameroon National Association for Family Welfare – CAMNAFAW) who are operating in humanitarian settings, targeting refugees and their host communities to improve their access to Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) services.

  • The International Planned Parenthood Federation, Africa Region is supporting these 3 member associations to achieve their targets and is seeking a Short-term consultant to coordinate the close-out phase of the project. The Consultant will be working under the guidance and supervision of the ARO Head of Program and will directly collaborating with MA focal person of the BMZ Project, in Burkina Faso, Togo and Cameroon.

    Purpose:

  • Ensure IPPF’s efficient and effective management of the project. This shall include in:

  • Strengthening the MAs capacity to provide timely lifesaving interventions in humanitarian settings especially to poor, socially excluded, and/or underserved people, particularly women and girls.

  • Transforming the MAs project activities through an efficient and performant management systems to ensure sustainability of project results.

  • Closely support member associations for the achievements of the project expected results as provided for in the relevant restricted funding projects documents.

  • Ensure that the close-out
    period of activities under the grants will be used to catch up with any delays vis-à-vis the approved proposal and that the narrative as well as financial reports meet the scheduling and quality donor requirements.

  • The consultant is expected to work in close relationship with the Program Department team within and across the region including other units integral to delivery of project objectives, such the IPPF Humanitarian Hub.

    Responsibilities may Include:

  • Support the timely implementation of project work plans and budgets according to the approved work plans

  • Monitor and support the implementation of work plan and budgets at country level

  • Tracking and reviewing the project M&E plan to ensure project delivery

  • Supporting and coordinating the project reporting to IPPF and donor as per the approved proposal

  • Contribute to effective communication and collaboration between the Project Team and IPPF Regional and Central Offices, Member Associations (MAs) and partners to achieve the projects goals

  • Collaborate with the ARO Operations department to oversee budget implementation and to prepare the finance report against program achievements.

  • Collaborate with the Strategy, Organisational Development and Governance Department and the Communication team to document promising/best practices in the project MAs

  • Collaborate with the External Relations and Communication department to ensure that learning from the humanitarian program is effectively documented and shared across the program staff as well as with external partners

  • Undertake any other duties as may be requested during the consultancy period.
