IOM Operations Assistant (DTM/MECC) Jobs in Uganda


Background and Context

  • The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is committed to ensuring orderly and humane governance of migration, promoting international cooperation on migration issues, and assisting in the search for practical solutions to migration issues.

    Under the direct supervision and guidance of the DTM Programme Assistant, in coordination with the Programme Coordinator and the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission IOM Uganda, the successful candidate will perform the following responsibilities:

  • Assist the Programme Assistant in the coordination with relevant stakeholders and partners including government authorities, Academia and NGO partners in the set-up of data collection operations.

  • Support the Project assistant in the organization of meetings, including logistic arrangements and invitations.

  • Support the DTM unit in drafting admin, logistics and procurement document;

  • Support the Project assistant to keep track of DTM assets, particularly tablets and phones;
    Assist the project assistant in drafting the interim report of projects;

  • Regularly update the M&E tracking tools of the various DTM/MECC projects;

  • Compile drafts of MECC/DTM updates;

  • Regularly travel to the field to assist in the implementation of activities as necessary.

  • Any other duties as necessary.

    Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Completed bachelor’s university degree from an accredited academic institution in Business Administration, Management, Logistics, Procurement from with two years of professional work experience;

    OR

  • High Diploma/Certificate with 4 years of professional experience.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of information technology and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.

    Languages

  • Fluency in English and working knowledge of other UN languages is an advantage.
