INTERSOS Pharmacy Manager Jobs in NigeriaUnder the supervision of the Country Pharmacist, the Pharmacy Manager takes responsibility for defining, coordinating and monitoring all pharmacy related activities in the Mission, according to INTERSOS standards and values, with consideration of national and donor’s regulations, in order to ensure the quality and proper organisation of medical supply process, procedures and protocols, the proper management of the medical stock in the projects and, in collaboration with the medical team, the correct use of medicines and medical material.

Responsibilities

Pharmacy & Medical Supply Management

  • Promote rational drug use, hygiene, infection control, and confidentiality.

  • Represent INTERSOS with Ministry of Health and local authorities on pharmaceutical supply.

  • Collaborate on budgeting and drug/material orders with Medical and Logistics Coordinators.

  • Supervise pharmacies, ensuring compliance with safety standards and legislation.

  • Support Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan (EPREP) and medical kits.

  • Conduct technical visits to project sites; analyze stock indicators and take corrective actions.

  • Provide technical support on pharmaceutical information, medication use, side effects, and adherence.

  • Collect data for monitoring medicine use, prescribing quality, and stewardship interventions.

  • Monitor procurement processes and ensure approved sources for local purchases.

  • Maintain drugs and equipment; ensure proper storage of narcotics/psychotropics.

  • Supervise storage conditions (temperature, humidity, cold chain, pest control).

  • Manage expired medications, loans/donations, and inventory updates.

    Staff Management & Reporting

  • Plan and supervise recruitment, training, evaluation, and development of pharmacy staff.

  • Support logistics officers where medical stock is integrated under supply chain.

  • Participate in reporting
    (situation reports, drug consumption, medical statistics).

    Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy required.

  • Valid practicing license required.

  • Minimum 4 years’ post‑qualification experience in humanitarian or similar context.

  • Advanced computer literacy (Word, Excel, Internet).

  • Strong leadership, people management, and teamwork skills.

  • Service orientation and understanding of humanitarian principles.

  • Ability to manage time effectively; flexible to work overtime.

  • Mission languages: English and Hausa essential.

  • Behavioral flexibility, results orientation, teamwork, honesty, integrity, and ability to cope with stress.
