INTERSOS Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer Jobs in Nigeria; Under the supervision of the MEAL Manager and according to organisational standards, the MEAL Officer will develop MEAL Frameworks for each project, guarantee proper data collection, and conduct qualitative and quantitative data analysis and reporting. The role ensures accountability and efficiency of the established data collection system, as well as the accuracy of findings and results.

Responsibilities

Tasks

  • Contribute to the development and update of MEAL Frameworks for programmes and projects, ensuring roll‑out at base level.

  • Support needs assessments and service mapping for strategic development and project design.

  • Assist the Information Management Officer in developing qualitative and quantitative data collection tools, systems, and databases.

  • Update internal and external databases weekly and monthly.

  • Collect and systematise data, maintain accurate databases, and produce reports and matrices.

  • Process and aggregate data regularly, analyse trends, and present findings through statistics, graphics, and tables.

  • Check data received from IMO for internal/external sharing; provide data to staff for decision‑making and advocacy.

  • Prepare consolidated reports on programme progress, achievements, challenges, and lessons learned.

  • Support compliance with Data Protection SOPs.

  • Assist MEAL Manager in responding to donor and internal requests for performance data.

  • Conduct training for field staff on reporting, analysis, and MEAL topics.

  • Audit documents and forms to collect sensitive data in line with SOPs.

  • Support feedback mechanisms throughout project phases.

  • Revise monitoring and evaluation tools and train programme teams on their use.

  • Conduct technical field visits to monitor programme implementation and present processed data.

  • Support internal and external evaluation exercises.

  • Represent INTERSOS in sectoral meetings and trainings, in coordination with
    MEAL Manager.

  • Perform other tasks as requested by supervisor.

    Position Requirements

    Education & Professional Requirements

  • Degree in Statistics, Information Management, Social Science, Demography, or related field.

  • Minimum 2 years’ relevant work experience in the humanitarian sector.

  • Experience in design and implementation of M&E systems, methods, and approaches.

  • Experience in data and information analysis.

  • Essential computer literacy.

  • Strong communication and reporting skills.

  • Organisational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

  • Excellent time management and resourcefulness.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Teamwork and cooperation.

  • Service orientation.

  • Commitment to confidentiality and INTERSOS principles.

  • Fluency in English required.
