International Trade Centre Programme Assistant Jobs in Kenya; These positions are located within the Division of Sustainable and Inclusive Trade (DSIT) and the Women, Youth, and Vulnerable Communities (WYVC) section. The WYVC Section leads ITC’s work on making international trade more inclusive and ensuring that marginalized populations benefit from trade‑led development.

WYVC delivers on six core objectives:

  • Improve the trade policy and regulatory environment for marginalized and vulnerable people.

  • Strengthen trade‑related institutions that support these groups.

  • Enhance their capacity and competitiveness through skills development, entrepreneurship support and business development.

  • Increase market access by connecting entrepreneurs and producers to domestic and international markets.

  • Provide thought leadership and advocacy to make value chains, business environments and trading systems more inclusive.

  • Mainstream inclusivity across all ITC projects and solutions.


    Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordination of programme/project planning and preparation for medium‑size and complex initiatives.

  • Compile, summarize and present information/data on programmes/projects.

  • Review project documents, especially budgets, for completeness and compliance.

  • Review budget revisions, verify funds availability and ensure approvals.

  • Serve as focal point for administrative coordination of programme/project implementation.

  • Compile and enter data on project delivery; draft status reports and identify shortfalls.

  • Draft correspondence on budget issues and prepare periodic reports and summaries.

  • Provide general office assistance; respond to complex inquiries; organize meetings and workshops.

  • Provide
    guidance/training to new or junior staff.

  • Assist with data collection, analysis and preparation of reports.

  • Support visualizations and update information materials such as web pages or brochures.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Teamwork – Collaborative, values input, supports group decisions.

  • Accountability – Ownership of responsibilities, compliance with rules, responsibility for delegated assignments.

    Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

    Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in programme/project administration or related area (3 years with first‑level university degree).

  • Experience within the UN common system desirable.

  • Experience using ERP systems (UMOJA) desirable.

    Languages

  • English required.

  • French desirable.
