International Rescue Committee NGO Livelihoods Resource Centre (LRC) Case Worker vacancies in Kenya


Job Purpose/Objective

The LRC Caseworker is responsible for meeting with all the clients visiting the center, assessing their needs, and providing them with direct services, advice, or linkages protection services if need be. The LRC Caseworkers act as professional and educational/business counselors and social workers, to make sure the needs of clients are met.

Responsibilities

  • Meet with all the clients and assess their needs.
  • With support from other BILLY staff members, register the clients through ComCare application
  • Provide clients with direct services, advice or linkages/referal to protection services Identify needs of women and children and refer clients to agencies within IRC network that provide specific protection and gender – based response services
  • Direct and mentor clients to livelihoods services
  • Work closely with Business and apprenticeship officer to rollout Learn to earn curriculum to Business clients.
  • With support from Livelihoods senior officer and Business training and apprenticeship officer carry out job counselling.
  • Ensure all documentations on reported clients and referrals made are updated, accurate, organized and well maintained.
  • With support from Client responsive senior officer, support in organizing and attending client feedback fora and document.

    Qualifications

  • Diploma in Social Work/Social Sciences/Counseling/psychology/ community Development or other related field preferred.
  • Degree in similar fields would be an added advantage.
  • Counseling and experience/ working with reputable organization or local organizations/groups, in provision of counseling and psychosocial, Livelihoods/ economic and social empowerment support to clients both urban Refugees and Vulnerable Kenyans Youth especially women and girls.
  • Excellent listening and observation skills, including ability to create trust, support, respect and interact with clients of all background and diversity.
  • 1-2 years’ experience working with communities in direct service provision to vulnerable groups, including children and women with protection issues.
  • Good facilitation skills
  • Clear understanding, including demonstrated positive attitudes on Refugees Rights
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and respect for clients at all times is essential.

    Job Purpose/Objective

    Logistics Officer (Travel, Transport and Admin) is a key position to the success and delivery of quality programs. IRC defines Supply Chain as those systems and functions necessary to implement programs effectively, inclusive of planning, procurement, logistics, inventory management, property and asset management as well as vehicle and fleet management.

    Responsibilities

  • Act as focal point for all travel and transport-related matters including flight bookings, accommodation for travelling staff and servicing of taxi requests
  • Timely planning, communication and coordination with the requesting staff/programs regarding their travel requests
  • Liaising with travel service providers and airlines for provision of travel services
  • Ensure up-to-date records are maintained for flights, accommodation and taxi bookings
  • Collect and share market intelligence information that may be critical for effective provision of Travel and Transport services
  • Monitor the performance of transport and travel service providers and initiate corrective actions where necessary
  • Support and provide appropriate trainings for Logistics and non-logistics staff on travel and transport management as may be required

    International Rescue Committee NGO Medical Officer vacancies in Kenya

    Job Purpose/Objective

    The medical officer in- charge of the hospital will offer quality health care to all patients in the hospital and work closely, as the team leader with medical officers, clinical officers, nurses, staff in lab, pharmacy and health post to ensure quality health care services are offered to the beneficiaries.

    Responsibilities

  • He/ She will be responsible for preparing clinical officers and medical officers duty rotas, compensatory days awarding, making alternate postings and duty arrangements to ensuring judicial deployment of clinicians
  • He/ She will provide direct supervision to the medical officers, Nursing officer-in-charge and clinical officers at the hospital.
  • Handle disciplinary cases with support of the CSM and the HR.
  • He/ She will plan and coordinate RnR and leave for medical officers and clinical officers
  • He/ She in liaison with the CSM and the Nursing officer-in-charge will be responsible for filling up vacant positions through the formal recruitment or promotions process to fulfil the requirements of the departments
  • He/ She will take lead in chairing the daily morning clinical staff meetings, mortality, morbidity and near-miss review audits; providing guidance, oversight and program updates as required.
  • Manage the Clinical Services Program in acting capacity when the CSM is not in office.
  • Coordinate and Participate the Continuous Medical Education (CME) for staff and give updates on care of patients.
  • Chair the Quality Improvement Committee meetings and together with the CSM ensure the action points are followed and acted upon.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery, (MBChB).
  • Registered with Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentist Board.
  • Minimum 3 yrs of working experience in a busy hospital.
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in health staff management in a hospital set up.
  • Be flexible, a team player and result oriented.
  • Be ready to work in challenging and multitasking environment.
  • Computer literacy in MS Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, is desired.
