International Rescue Committee HR Associate Jobs in Kenya; The HR Associate guides candidates through the new hire experience and supports the pre-employment and onboarding process in partnership with Recruiting Associates, HR Partners, HR Focal Points, and hiring managers. The role ensures a smooth onboarding aligned with local labor practices, while also managing benefits, leave, and HR administration.
ResponsibilitiesOnboarding & Offboarding Lead full onboarding process including pre-arrival communication, orientation scheduling, documentation collection, and system setup.
Engage proactively with candidates after offer acceptance.
Track onboarding tasks including communications, compliance acknowledgements, and orientations.
Provide onboarding kits, facilitate introductions, and ensure technical/administrative setup.
Lead structured exit processes including dues processing and clearance per Kenya labor law.
Support recruitment processes with Recruiting Associates and hiring managers.
Track and maintain onboarding/pre-employment documentation and HRIS updates.
Administration & Benefits
Manage paperwork related to employee benefits (medical insurance, group life, GPA, pension, wellness).
Ensure timely enrollment/termination from benefits programs.
Liaise with insurance providers for claims, renewals, and policy updates.
Track utilization and cost data for budgeting and negotiations.
Orient new hires on benefit packages and support staff queries.
Leave Management
Oversee end-to-end leave management including tracking, reconciliation, reporting, and system updates.
Provide guidance on all types of leave in
compliance with policies and labor laws.
Audit leave balances and coordinate corrections.
Align leave balances with payroll and final dues.
Support workforce planning with leave utilization reports.
Other Responsibilities
Conduct exit interviews and report findings to HR Lead.
Ensure HRIS data accuracy and updates.
Manage staff contracts, personnel files, and HR records.
Prepare HR-related reports and presentations (e.g., DEI, hires by department).
Administer HRIS (Workday) and data management.
Skills & Competencies
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Customer service focus with accountability and results orientation.
Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel essential).
Confidentiality and sensitive information handling.
Organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable to shifting priorities.
Workday and Cornerstone experience a plus.
