International Rescue Committee Director of AI and Digital Workplace Platforms Jobs in Kenya; The Director of AI and Digital Workplace Platforms owns the portfolio of enterprise AI and workplace tools. The role is responsible for strategy, operations, and staff enablement across the digital workplace stack, ensuring IRC gains measurable value from platforms like Microsoft 365, Box, Anthropic Claude, Microsoft Copilot, and Power Platform.

Major Responsibilities

Digital Workplace & AI Platform Strategy (25%)

  • Define and maintain roadmap for M365, Box, Claude, Copilot, and Power Platform.

  • Evaluate new tools and capabilities; recommend investments or sunsetting.

  • Build business cases for platform investments with ROI analysis.

  • Align platform strategy with IT and organizational priorities.

  • Track industry trends in enterprise AI and workplace technology.

    Vendor & Platform Operations (20%)
  • Manage vendor operations with Anthropic, Microsoft, and others.

  • Oversee license management, provisioning, and cost optimization.

  • Ensure configurations, access controls, and security settings meet standards.

  • Monitor platform health, usage trends, and license utilization.

  • Track vendor policy changes and feature releases.

    AI Adoption & Enablement (25%)
  • Drive adoption of AI tools across the portfolio.

  • Define success metrics and track progress.

  • Partner with change management and training teams for rollout planning.

  • Surface training needs and provide platform‑specific context.

  • Collect and synthesize user feedback.

  • Coordinate with Head of AI and Program Technology Development.

    Governance & Compliance (15%)
  • Contribute to AI governance processes and policy updates.

  • Ensure platform usage aligns with policies and data privacy requirements.

  • Provide usage data, logs, and incident reports for governance reviews.

  • Flag compliance or security risks.

  • Maintain documentation of configurations and policy changes.

    Team Leadership & Operations (15%)
  • Lead and manage Digital Workplace team.

  • Set priorities
    and ensure responsive, high‑quality support.

  • Own support model: ticketing, triage, escalation, resolution.

  • Maintain help resource library.

  • Manage team budget and track spend.

    Required Experience & Skills

    Strategy & Leadership
  • 8+ years in IT/digital workplace roles; 3+ years in leadership.

  • Experience setting platform/product strategy.

  • Track record of building business cases and managing budgets.

    Platform Administration & Operations
  • Deep knowledge of Microsoft 365 administration.

  • Experience with Box, Power Platform, Claude, Copilot.

  • Vendor operations management and license governance.

    AI Adoption & Enablement
  • Hands‑on experience with enterprise AI tools.

  • Experience driving adoption across distributed organizations.

    User Support & Communication
  • Experience designing/running user support functions.

  • Strong communication skills for non‑technical audiences.

    Governance & Compliance
  • Familiarity with AI governance frameworks and data privacy principles.

    Preferred
  • Experience in nonprofit, international development, or humanitarian IT.

  • Managing Power Platform environments.

  • Background in change management or staff enablement.
