Job Description

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people to survive and rebuild their lives. Founded in 1933, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster.

IRC has been working in Ethiopia since 1999 and is implementing integrated, community-managed programs aimed at improving the quality of lives and recover of livelihood of disaster-affected population’s through promoting individual participation, strengthening institutions and emergency response.

Currently, IRC is operating in the Oromia, Benishangul, Tigray, SNNPR and Somali regions on Emergency Response, refugee’s assistance and livelihood projects.

Job Overview:

The Archivist is mainly responsible for proper documentation of financial documents including proper filling, scanning & photocopying documents, and maintaining documents in both softcopy and hardcopy.

The position holder will also assist Finance team in retrieving documents, photocopying and liaising with banks and tax authority as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proper documentation & maintenance of financial related documents.
  • Filling documents in sequential arrangement and label.
  • Insuring that all payments have paid stamp.
  • Photocopying and scanning of documents.
    Settling of documents related to income tax and withholding tax monthly.
  • Providing finance documents during IRC's Internal /external auditing.
  • Collecting advices, checks and statements from the bank as required.
  • Assisting all the finance team as required.
  • Perform other duties as required by supervisor.


    Job Requirements

  • Diploma/High School Graduate in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • 1 year experience for Diploma holders or 3 years work experience for high school graduate.
    NGO experience is a plus.
  • Good knowledge of computer usage & office machines usage (Photocopy & Scanner).
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintaining high standards of work and producing quality work.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines with open mind setting.
