Description

Our client is an International polymers distributor with offices in Nairobi, Kenya. They wish to recruit a Sales Manager for their Kenyan Branch.

Key Responsibilities:

Kindly note that the position is not limited to the responsibilities below

Sales Strategy and Customer service:

Develop an ex-stock sales portfolio in Kenya (to start)

Visit customers and prospects (polymer converting companies) with initial focus on Polyethylene

Analyze and report on market trends, customers and competitors’ activities

Negotiate pricing and manage profitable sales

Manage and follow-up full sales process from initial contact until closing orders

Develop and maintain good relationship with customers and prospects

Achieve targets and objectives in line with the business plan and strategy

Handle entire process from sale to recovery with support of customer service and credit department

Follow-up with shipping and risk/financial departments

Person Profile:

Technical and Interpersonal Skills:

Strong knowledge about the ex-stock market (Kenya / Tanzania / Uganda) for several kinds of

polymers/chemicals.

Excellent knowledge for regulatory requirements of countries and customers

Good Incoterms knowledge and logistics notions

Ability for Microsoft Pack office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint…)

Excellent autonomy, rigor, reliability and organizational skills

Strong teamwork, interpersonal and pro-active skills

Strong communication skills

English fluent (written and oral)

Experience:

Minimum of 5/7 years of experience in an International context (manufacturing or trading company)

Qualification

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in International Trade
