International Organization for Migration Resources Management Officer Jobs in South Africa South Africa; Under the direct supervision of the Senior Resources Management Officer (SRMO) and in close coordination with the Deputy Regional Director-Management (DRD-M) in the Regional Office for East, Horn and Southern Africa, the Department of Financial and Administrative Management (DFM) at Headquarters, and the Global Shared Services Centre (GSSC), the Resources Management Officer will support, monitor, and coordinate budgetary, financial, HR, and administrative functions of the Sub-Regional Office in Pretoria, providing support to staff in these areas.

Responsibilities

  • Support monitoring and oversight of financial management for all activities, including review of expenditure and accountability

  • Facilitate treasury management by forecasting cash flows, monitoring funds disbursed, and validating donor agreement compliance

  • Prepare financial reviews of projects, oversee budget control, and analyse variances between budget and actual expenditures

  • Assist with annual budget preparation and monitoring, and support budgets for new projects and programmes

  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls to safeguard assets, cash, and prevent fraud

  • Review payroll versus budgets, ensuring salaries are correctly allocated to projects

  • Draft project and donor financial reports in line with IOM regulations and procedures

  • Review existing systems and procedures, recommend improvements to strengthen monitoring, evaluation, and control systems

  • Assist in managing HR functions, recruitment, and personnel administration, applying HR policies and resolving sensitive cases

  • Oversee supply chain services, contracts, fleet management, premises maintenance, and support services

  • Participate in UN meetings such as the UN Operations Management Team (OMT) or
    ONE UN working groups

  • Perform other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Education:

  • Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management, or related field with two years’ relevant experience

  • University degree in the above fields with four years’ relevant experience

  • Professional certification (CA, CPA, CIMA, ACCA) is an advantage

    Experience:

  • Experience in financial administration, management, accounting, and budgeting

  • Experience in HR, procurement, and logistics

  • Experience using an Enterprise Resource Planning system

  • Experience in emergency operations an advantage

  • Experience in monitoring, evaluation, and/or audit an advantage

    Skills:

  • Ability to work closely with government and international officials

  • Ability to act independently and exercise sound judgment

  • Ability to work under pressure

  • Ability to prepare clear and concise reports

  • Knowledge of IPSAS an advantage

  • Knowledge of Oracle highly desirable

    Languages:

  • Fluency in English required (oral and written)

  • Working knowledge of French an advantage
