International Organization for Migration Programme Support Officer Jobs in Ethiopia


Job Purpose

  • Support the coordination and implementation of the AU‑ILO‑IOM‑GIZ Joint Labour Migration Programme (JLMP).

  • Ensure effective communication, reporting, monitoring, and stakeholder engagement.

  • Be part of the AUC Programme Support Unit (PSU), based in Addis Ababa.

    Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and communicate with IOM, ILO, GIZ, and stakeholders to ensure activities align with approved work plans.

  • Draft portions of periodic narrative reports in line with M&E mechanisms.

  • Contribute to position papers, talking points, and policy briefs on labour migration.

  • Assist in organizing Steering Committee and technical committee meetings.

  • Support programme monitoring against JLMP logical framework and donor requirements.

  • Organize workshops, trainings, and meetings; prepare minutes and reports.

  • Maintain stakeholder networks for active information sharing.

  • Support project evaluations in coordination with M&E Officer.

  • Maintain project calendar of events and ensure coordination.

  • Identify and document best practices and lessons learned.

  • Maintain and update project documents and files for knowledge management.

  • Monitor project implementation, identify problems, and propose solutions.

  • Analyze progress reports and document significant events or deviations.

  • Facilitate collaboration and information exchange with other regions.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications & Experience

    Education

  • Master’s degree in Development Economics, Political Science, Business Administration, Project Management, Public Administration/Management, or related field with 2 years’ relevant experience; OR

  • Bachelor’s degree in the above fields with 4 years’ relevant experience.

    Experience

  • Strong working relations with governments, NGOs, international organizations, civil society, or
    private sector.

  • Experience in labour migration, project management, programme implementation, M&E, and reporting.

  • Experience in budget formulation, financial management, and administration.

  • Experience in partnerships with governments, UN agencies, donors, and INGOs.

  • Capacity to provide technical advice on labour, employment, migration, and AU policy organs.

  • Experience working with RECs, IOM, ILO, GIZ, and donors on labour and social protection.

  • Collaboration with continental/regional social partners (Business Africa, OATUU, ITUC Africa).

    Skills

  • Familiarity with labour migration policy and legal frameworks.

  • Knowledge of JLMP and AU frameworks.

  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

  • Effective oral and written communication in English or French.

  • Ability to prepare high‑quality reports.

  • Ability to work in multicultural environments.

  • Excellent command of MS Office, spreadsheets, and databases.

    Languages

  • Fluency in English required.

  • Knowledge of French or Spanish desirable.
