International Organization for Migration Programme Coordinator Jobs in Kenya;;The Programme Coordinator will oversee and coordinate IOM Kenya’s Migration Management portfolio, including labour mobility, immigration and border governance, and migrant protection. The role involves policy implementation, programme oversight, stakeholder engagement, and resource mobilization in alignment with national priorities and international frameworks.

Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Programme Oversight & Strategy

  • Oversee implementation of policies and strategies on labour mobility, immigration, and migrant protection.

  • Ensure coherence and coordination across projects, programmes, and stakeholders.

  • Provide timely and accurate information to stakeholders and participate in relevant forums.

  • Align programming with Government of Kenya priorities and inter‑agency frameworks.

  • Integrate cross‑cutting issues (gender, age, disability, environment, protection) into programming.

    Staff Supervision & Capacity Building

  • Guide and supervise staff implementing migration management projects.

  • Coordinate training to strengthen programme knowledge and delivery.

    Project Development & Resource Mobilization

  • Identify new opportunities and contribute to project proposal development.

  • Liaise with donors and brief them on current and planned programmes.

  • Undertake duty travel for assessments, monitoring, and project development.

    Compliance & Reporting

  • Ensure adherence to donor and institutional reporting procedures.

  • Mitigate risks of delays or inaccuracies in reporting.

  • Ensure compliance with internal systems (e.g., PRIMA).

    Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Law, or related field with 5 years’
    experience (Mandatory).

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 7 years’ experience (Alternative).

  • Accredited universities must be listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.

    Experience

  • Professional experience in labour mobility, diaspora engagement, immigration, and migrant protection.

  • Strong project implementation, monitoring, and reporting experience.

  • Demonstrated policy and strategy development experience.

  • Experience in complex settings requiring operational flexibility.

  • Prior work in East and Horn of Africa/IGAD region, especially with UN, is an advantage.

    Skills

  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.

  • Strong project management and M&E knowledge.

  • Resource management and financial administration skills.

  • Knowledge of migration‑related subject areas.

  • Ability to supervise interventions and coordinate administrative activities.

  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

    Languages

  • Fluency in English (oral and written) required.
