International Organization for Migration Head of Programme Coordination and Innovation Unit (P) Jobs in Nigeria;Manage and coordinate the Programme Coordination and Innovation Unit (PCIU) of IOM Nigeria. Lead programme conceptualization, proposal development, monitoring and evaluation, strategic planning, donor liaison and resource mobilisation. Strengthen relationships with UN, donors and Government of Nigeria.

Responsibilities

Programme Management & Supervision

  • Supervise staff of Mission Support and Innovation Unit.

  • Ensure timely performance of development, implementation and reporting tasks.

  • Assess project and funding opportunities and prepare proposals.

  • Review and improve reports, fact sheets and documents.

    Coordination & Evaluation

  • Support coordination and evaluation of programme activities.

  • Advise Deputy Chief of Mission on corrective measures.

  • Liaise with donors, partners, RO and HQ for synergies.

    Policy & Strategic Advice

  • Mainstream AU, ECOWAS, IGAD and regional frameworks into programming.

  • Analyse migration issues, policies and emerging trends.

  • Identify priorities and propose corrective actions.

    Support to Programme Teams

  • Provide guidance on implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

  • Ensure quality assurance across projects.

    Representation & External Relations

  • Participate in UN and inter‑agency meetings.

  • Facilitate integration of IOM programmes into inter‑agency frameworks.

  • Liaise with national counterparts for cooperation and external relations.

    Information & Knowledge Management

  • Provide evidence‑based information for project development and fundraising.

  • Develop communications and visibility materials (reports, newsletters, flash reports).

  • Promote knowledge generation and use for improved policy engagement.

    Other Duties

  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

    Requirements

    Education

  • Master’s degree with 5 years’ experience • Bachelor’s with 7 years’ experience.

    Experience

  • International migration, management and evaluation.

  • Operational and field experience in migration issues.

  • Experience with donors on project implementation and reporting.

  • Knowledge of migration themes in West Africa and arid/semi‑arid regions.

  • Liaison with government, institutions and NGOs.

    Skills

  • Project monitoring and evaluation expertise.

  • Thematic expertise in liaison, reporting and monitoring.

  • Knowledge of regional issues an advantage.

    Languages

  • Fluency in English required.

  • Working knowledge of another UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) an advantage.
