Essential Job Duties/Scope of Work:

South Kordofan and Blue Niles States of Sudan are one of the conflicted affected states in Sudan. As a result of the persistent conflict and chronic underdevelopment, humanitarian agencies are often takes a lead on filling the gaps and support delivery of basic services.

International Medical Corps is providing lifesaving humanitarian assistance in the two states. The assistance is mainly focused on health and nutrition interventions covering more than 25 health facilities dispersed in 11 localities.

International Medical Corps supports the health facilities and nutrition centers through training of health workers; drug supply provision; responding and preventing disease outbreaks; clinical and health system support; prevention and management of malnutrition and others.

Job Purpose

  • The main purpose of the job is to design, manage, implement and monitor all projects and sub-grants in the targeted locations through timely and quality inputs and support aligned with all requirements.

  • In addition, the job includes staff management, working with various stakeholders, working with internal department and other day to day activities.

  • Ensure functional operational support is in place in the sites to achieve results across program sectors and Implement IMC global operational policies at a national level.

  • Ensure compliance with donor regulations with regard to the supply chain and develop an annual operations plan with regular follow-up of department or project heads.

  • Coordinate across operations units, across field sites and with programs and finance departments.

  • Coach, mentor, supervise and give timely feed backs to Site Managers and other field support /operation staff.Provide inputs and assistance to programs with particular reference to financial management, HRM, compliance with IMC and donor regulations, contractual obligations and reporting systems.

  • Responsible for all facilities management of the International Medical Corps field Offices, oversight and control of local procurement systems and procedures respected in the two International Medical Corps field offices

  • Assist Site
    Managers in working effectively with other units to improve planning and resource allocations and utilization. Undertake periodic system reviews of procurement, vehicle & fuel, asset, warehouse/inventory, suppliers and vendor contracts and communication systems to identify areas for improvement and compliance with IMC policy.

  • Serve as security focal point and ensure that the Security Management Plan and SOP’s are regularly updated. Support CD and Country Operations Manager in troubleshooting specific security incidents.

  • Represent IMC and liaise with local and national authorities, UN, NGO, and donor agencies to promote IMC programs, facilitate successful coordination of activities and ensure transparency

    Qualifications:

  • Master degree in social sciences
    Financial and logistics management
  • Experience of program or operations management for more than 6 years.
  • Experience in health and nutrition programs.
  • Experience in emergency/Humanitarian context including developing country experience.
  • Experience of financial and/or logistics management.
  • Experience of working with several stakeholders including ministry of health, international agencies and UN.
  • Experience of managing multiple operational sites and sectors in integrated way.
  • Experience of expanding program portfolio.
  • Experience of financial and logistics management.
  • Experience of security management.
  • Experience of remote management.
