Scope of Work (SOW)

  • To advise and collaborate with Ethiopia’s HR department, regional HRBP and SMT to develop a holistic Country staff care strategy and a contextually appropriate (i.e., working in ongoing conflict / protracted / emergency context during a COVID-19 response) wellbeing staff package, that can be rolled out across IMC country office to support all staff, with particular focus to frontline responders in Tigray response and isolated field sites such as Dollo and Gambella.

  • To provide recommendations for an organizational framework for long-term promotion of staff wellbeing

  • To lead the identification and development of staff care services and emergency interventions in the areas of self-care, resilience, stress management and psychological trauma response for IMC staff.

  • Support in-country recruitment processes for two new staff wellbeing officers, one to support Tigray team and the other for the field sites outside of Tigray.

  • To work closely with the regional HRBP in mentoring HR team, and especially the Staff Wellbeing Officers (SWOs) in-country to ensure wellbeing staff package adequately supports all staff in an inclusive, non-discriminatory way, including ensuring ease of access to support and confidentiality of use of services.

  • To equip senior management team (SMT) and supervisors with guidance, tools, resources and training to support staff resilience and productivity, ensure good-quality communication and accurate information updates are provided to all staff (e.g. this could include rotating workers from higher-stress to lower-stress functions; implement flexible schedules for workers who are directly impacted or who have a family member impacted by a stressful event; ensure that time is built in for colleagues to provide social support to each other).

  • Design psychoeducation/informative group sessions and materials that can be cascaded via training / coaching to national staff wellbeing officers for them to be confident and empowered to run the staff wellbeing program by the end of month 3.

  • To provide technical support, coaching and supervision of the national
    staff wellbeing officers to deliver the staff wellbeing activities inside and outside of Tigray.

  • Potential to deliver, when necessary, individual / group support sessions to international and national staff.
