International Livestock Research Institute Laboratory Technician - Yam and Bambara Groundnut Jobs in Kenya



Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare plant tissue culture media for yam and Bambara groundnut transformation and regeneration experiments.

  • Perform seed sterilization, explant preparation, and culture initiation following protocols.

  • Maintain, multiply, and regularly subculture in vitro yam and Bambara groundnut cultures.

  • Support regeneration, transformation, potting, and greenhouse maintenance of regenerated plants.

    Requirements

  • Diploma in Agriculture or related field with 2 years’ relevant work experience.

  • Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel) or other software.

  • Experience in Bambara groundnut tissue culture.

  • Understanding of workplace health and safety and good practices.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
