Job Description

  • Employer: Founded in 1980, Inter Aide is a French non-governmental organization specialized in the implementation of concrete development programs, in response to precise vital needs for the most deprived populations.

  • In Ethiopia, Inter Aide starts its intervention for almost 30 years and has implemented Agriculture, Water Supply and Health programs in the SNNPR Region.

  • For its Country office in Addis Ababa, Inter Aide France is seeking an Admin/Accountant Assistant to answer to the Administrative and Accounting needs of its programs implemented in SNNPR.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    Office Duties

  • Provides secretarial support to Addis Office (phone answering, letters submission, etc.)

  • Keeps scan copies of all receipts of projects after the checking is done by Admin and Finance Manager.

  • Organize the documents to be kept online
    Checks of office cash boxes

  • Submits bank transfers and tax reports up on request

  • Follows the office furniture needs

    Accounting duties

  • Assists Admin and Finance Manager, to follow deadlines on Accounting Envelops received from projects/programs

  • Assists the Finance manager on encoding daily expenses

  • Updates the
    different files linked to Finance/accounting activities

  • Additionally, to those specific duties, the Administrator/Accountant is asked to be very flexible and ready to perform other duties requested by the Finance and Administration Manager that would enable to facilitate the functioning of the organization

    Job Requirements

    Education and/or Experiences

  • Diploma/Bachelor Degree or equivalent higher education degree in social science, program assistant, administration / finance, secretarial Science/Office management

  • At least 2 years of experience in similar position

  • Previous experience in INGO sector is a plus

    Knowledge, Skills, and Personal Qualities

  • Advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office Pack and accounting software’s (high interest to work on excel)

  • Very good English language writing and speaking skills, French additionally may be a plus

  • Fluent Amharic language skills

  • Flexible and open minded

  • Demonstrates organizational & time-managing skills

  • Willing to work in a development INGO dedicating its activities to the most deprived populations of Ethiopia.
