Job Summary

  • Provide ICT support for the successful planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the ITC operations and maintain ITC’s technology wide-system information and telecommunication infrastructure. .

    Main Duties

    ICT Planning

    • Develop ICT strategies for ITC in line with ITC policies and guidelines

    • Prepare ICT operational plans and budgets

    • ICT Systems Development and Maintenance

    • Build new or improve on the efficiency of the existing ICT systems for ITC in line with the prevailing technologies and ITC policies and guidelines.

    • Coordinate the guidance of ITC staff and students on the effective use of the developed ICT systems.

    • Oversee the maintenance of ICT systems and troubleshooting ICT Network Security

    Management

    • Manage the overall ICT systems control by safeguarding them against deliberate efforts of fraudulent abuse through physical and logical systems

    • Constantly monitor emerging threats to the ICT systems and establish appropriate security features and data backup systems to address such risks.

    ICT Hardware and Software Management

    • keep an up to date register for all ICT hardware and software within ITC

    • Oversee the connections of ITC desktops, laptops, printers, servers, telephones and other hardware in the required points within ITC

    • Oversee the installation of all software within the ITC IT system and monitor their compatibility and efficient functionality

    • Establish user guidelines to ensure the integrity of servers, switches, cables, wireless access points within ITC premises

    Management of ICT Service Providers

    •
    Lobby for and participate in the evaluation of ICT Product/service providers Maintain relationship with ICT external service providers of core services and ensure services are delivered according to agreed terms and conditions.

    • Reporting

    • Prepare and submit periodic ICT training reports as and when required

    Required Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

    • Planning and organizational skills

    • Analytical skills.

    • Excellent knowledge of ICT systems development

    • People management skill Communication and Interpersonal skills.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science/ Engineering or related field. Professional certifications such as CCNA, CISA, MCSE, A+, Linux+ etc. is desirable

    • 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position in a government or reputable company.
