Our well established insurance client wishes to recruit a Senior Sales Officer. Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Senior Sales Officer will be based at the Head Office in Nairobi.
Purpose of the Position
To develop and lead a dynamic sales force, maintain and enhance business relationships in order to increase and retain market share in the existing and emerging consumer market.
Responsibility and Authority
To achieve the new business sales budget i.e. premiums written (GWP) for both new and renewal business.
To supervise, motivate and assist Agencies by establishing relationships with either organizations that will enable their Sales Representatives to Sell in those organizations (opening up markets).
To recruit and train Agency Managers, Team Leaders and Sales Representatives.
To ensure that the sales force is continuously covered by such number of product Agencies as the Company may require.
Develop relationships with key stakeholders that will enable our sales team to be allowed to make presentations in check-off centres, corporate entities or camping sites (develop markets for the agencies).
To ensure that any and all instalments and renewal premiums on business produced by the Agencies are paid to the Company on due dates.
To produce such quantity of Life Assurance business paid and acceptable to the Company as it may from time to time require and ensure that such business is maintained in force until its natural expiry.
To ensure that the Agency Managers and Team Leaders achieve their KPI’s by selling and agreeing on KPI’s, evaluating performance on a monthly and quarterly basis against the set KPI’s, and make appropriate recommendations.
Identify training and development needs for the Agency Managers and Team Leaders and liaise with relevant departments to ensure they are appropriately trained.
Actively participate in the formulation of strategies for the Business, and ensuring full implementation of strategic initiatives and action items.
Responsible for the achievement of the product mix, productivity,
average premiums and man power budgets.
Ensure that the products offered to the customers meet the specific needs of the customer, and that there are no incidences of mis-selling in their Agencies, and expeditiously deal with such complaints, if any.
To fully comply with all laws and regulations governing the trade, policies and guidelines of the company and to ensure that all the Agency Managers, Team Leaders and Sales Representatives under their jurisdiction comply.
Accept and implement lawful instructions issued by any authorized member of the organization.
Person Profile
Knowledge and Qualifications
Degree in business and/or a minimum qualification in insurance (COP, LOMA, CIP or progress in AIIK or ACII)
Diploma in Sales & Marketing (Desirable)
5 years sales experience in the insurance industry and 3 years in a sales management environment
Knowledge of relevant legislation IRA, AKI, AIBK, RBA
Financial services industry knowledge
