Job Purpose

  • The Business Development Manager is responsible for actively seeking and securing opportunities to distribute insurance products through new distribution channels including developing and maintaining partnerships.

  • This is a senior professional role requiring 6+ years of total working experience with proven ability to drive significant revenue generation results from distribution partners.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Prospect, on-board, and train new distribution partners.

  • Assist in the constant improvement of business development, partner management, and on-boarding processes.

  • Provide market-based competitor insights for product and pricing enhancements.

  • Grow and manage a sales force for direct business.

  • Responsible for placement of tenders.

  • Responsible for channel revenue targets.

  • Forecast distribution channel premium on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.

  • Represent the brokerage business in meetings with distribution partners, seminars, trade shows and other networking events.

  • Assist in the constant improvement of business development, partner management, and on-boarding processes.

    Maintaining a customer retention target at 90%
    Performance Indicators

  • New partnerships secured

  • Upsell/ cross-sell rate of services and products

  • Net growth in revenue

  • Client Acquisition cost

  • Annual retention rate

  • Existing
    client satisfaction & engagement index.

    Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Commerce/ Business Administration

  • Professional insurance qualification i.e. COP/ AIIK is an added advantage.

  • Business development experience in the insurance industry

  • Minimum 6 years working experience in business development with thorough understanding of insurance financials

  • Experience in successfully developing and managing large commercial lines and other strategic partners.

  • Proven ability to drive significant revenue from distribution partners.
