General Summary

  • The research Nurse’s primary role is to work with the health facilities to ensure that the study is conducted according to the study protocol.

    Key Responsibilities

  • Provide study information to potential subjects prior to and during the consent
    process.

  • Obtain and document informed participant consent

  • Document study procedures in participants care report forms

  • Perform blood draws as per study protocol

  • Provide nursing care to study participants

  • Transcribe all audio-recorded interviews

  • Schedule study participant visits

  • Conduct data quality control and assurance reviews

  • Perform any other study related duties as assigned

    Person Specifications

  • Nursing degree or diploma (Registered) from a recognized education institution

  • GCP training and research experience is an added advantage

  • Up to date registration with Uganda Nurses’ and Midwives council

  • Excellent written and oral English communication skills

  • Ability to communicate to participants in the local language

  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in nursing procedures and practices

  • Good counselling skills

  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and team player

  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, schedule and
    manage multiple tasks in a fast paced, dynamic environment

  • Good computer skills
