IMPACT Initiatives Senior Research Manager Jobs in South Sudan;The Senior Research Manager oversees research cycles, including preparation, data collection, analysis, drafting, dissemination and evaluation.

The role engages partners, ensures transparent resource use, leads research staff and supports strategy, advocacy and fundraising.

Key Responsibilities

Staff Management

  • Directly manage international and national assessment team members.

  • Oversee recruitment, appraisals and capacity building.

  • Develop work plans, performance indicators and training plans.

  • Conduct regular check‑ins, promote team building and staff welfare.

  • Provide technical backstopping and support.

  • Contribute to Senior Management Team decision‑making.

    Management of Research Cycles

  • Ensure staff are briefed on objectives and outputs.

  • Review ToRs and secure HQ validation before data collection.

  • Engage stakeholders in assessment design and planning.

  • Monitor data collection and track progress.

  • Provide situation updates and address challenges.

  • Ensure logistics, finance, security and HR processes are implemented.

  • Review and validate assessment outputs before release.

  • Disseminate products via portals, social media, presentations and meetings.

  • Support monitoring and evaluation of research cycles.

    Strategy Development and Implementation

  • Identify information gaps and advocacy strategies.

  • Formalise synergies with assessment and knowledge actors.

  • Build strategic partnerships with humanitarian stakeholders.

  • Contribute to REACH South Sudan country strategy.

  • Coordinate development of unit strategy.

    External Engagement

  • Represent REACH/IMPACT in clusters and technical groups.

  • Contribute to IPC, JIAF, ICCG and other fora.

  • Present findings to partners to enhance use and impact.

  • Ensure partners are consulted at all stages of research
    cycles.

  • Support external communications with donors, UN, government and NGOs.

  • Assist Country Representative in fundraising and grants management.

    Confidentiality and Data Protection

  • Maintain strict confidentiality on all data and processes.

  • Prevent unauthorised sharing of information and data.

    Requirements

  • Master’s degree in International Relations, Political Science, Social Research, Development Studies or similar.

  • Previous senior management experience in INGO field settings.

  • Track record managing international and national teams.

  • Familiarity with aid system and research community.

  • Excellent communication and drafting skills.

  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience; South Sudan experience an asset.

  • Experience in assessments, M&E, field research and evaluations.

  • Ability to multitask under tight deadlines.

  • Self‑starter, able to work independently.

  • Ability to operate in cross‑cultural environments.

  • Fluency in English.

  • Ability to work in complex security environments.
