IMPACT Initiatives Regional Senior Research Officer Jobs in Uganda;The Regional Senior Research Officer (SRO) will ensure research implementation meets or exceeds IMPACT’s quality standards, providing country teams with technical guidance, peer review and learning support across different stages of the research cycle.

Based in Kampala, Uganda, the SRO will support country operations in East and Southeast Africa, with occasional travel to provide in‑country surge support.

Core Tasks & Responsibilities

Support Implementation of Research Standards

Act as HQ RQA Unit focal point for East & Southeast Africa.

Provide day‑to‑day support and advice to country teams.

Support transition to decentralized quality assurance processes.

Provide technical guidance for research planning and methodology design.

Conduct peer review for research design, data processing and analysis.

Flag risks and provide surge support (up to 25% of time).

Strengthen Research Standards Through Learning

Develop and maintain learning solutions (guidance notes, online courses, webinars, training).

Contribute to lessons learned and best practices reviews.

Support quality monitoring exercises and integrate improvements.

Provide ad‑hoc support to other regions as

needed.

Required Qualifications & Experience

At least 3 years’ experience designing and implementing primary research programmes, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts in East/Southeast Africa.

Master’s degree in relevant discipline.

Fluency in English.

Required Technical Competencies

Quantitative methodology design (indicators, tools, sampling, analysis).

Quantitative data processing and management.

Responsible data management (privacy and ethics).

Application of statistical concepts across research cycle.

Programming skills (Python or R) for data processing, analysis and visualization.
