IMPACT Initiatives Associate Research Manager Jobs in Uganda; The Associate Research Manager supports IMPACT’s Ethiopia Humanitarian Analysis and Prioritization Team (HAPT), which produces light, consistent, and decision‑oriented analysis products to inform humanitarian decision‑making. HAPT synthesizes data and conducts structured analysis to deliver trend analysis, crisis zoom‑ins, acute needs analysis, rapid needs assessments, and prioritization support for strategic actors.

Key Responsibilities

Research Cycle Management

  • Understand key research cycles and their contribution to strategic response objectives.

  • Manage research cycles, including design, data collection, and analysis.

    Contextual Understanding

  • Stay updated on the shifting Ethiopian humanitarian context.

    Research & Technical Skills

  • Oversee analytical workstreams using REACH and secondary data.

  • Lead research design, tool development, and data collection.

  • Produce thematic briefs, reports, and presentations.

    Staff Management & Training

  • Build analytical capacity across the mission.

  • Provide day‑to‑day management of research team members.

    Coordination

    Internal

  • Interact with HQ departments; serve as focal point for themes/technical areas.

  • Coordinate with research units to improve research cycles.

  • Support senior management in strategy design and implementation.

    External

  • Lead external engagement related to analytical research findings.

    Confidentiality

  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all data and processes.

  • Prevent unauthorized sharing of information.

    Requirements

  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline.

  • Proven experience with complex research methods and analytical frameworks.

  • Strong analytical skills;
    familiarity with qualitative analysis (saturation grid or software).

  • Experience in multi‑sectoral/intersectoral research highly desired.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with statistical software (R, SPSS, STATA) preferred.

  • Familiarity with the aid system required.

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience.

  • Proven team management and capacity‑building skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently and in cross‑cultural environments.

  • Experience operating in complex security environments.

  • Past experience in Ethiopia/East Africa desirable.

  • Fluency in English required.
