Summary

Timely and efficient posting and processing of RTGS, Telegraphic Transfers, Salary Processing and Clearing transactions in line with operational guidelines and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Plan, Review, and monitor adherence to bank control system/procedures in Salary payments, Cheque clearing, EFTs, RTGS and TT transfers in line with bank policies and BOU clearing house rules and regulations.

Verify payment instructions as per BOU/International payment rules and regulations and Bank policy

Process Payments instructions as per BOU/International payment rules and regulations and Bank policy

Monitor ALL payments GLs daily and give full account of the outstanding items within the rules

Monitor and supervise the Bank Payment systems and ensure all commissions are earned as per bank policies.

Receive and attend to customers Queries and general information inquiries in line with the bank policy.

Verify the Cheques received from branches and advise any branch which may have any irregularities in its postings to rectify.

Call over daily transactions posted transactions as per bank call over policy.

Minimum Education Qualification

Bachelor’s Degree in a Business related Course

Experience

Two years practical (on-the-job) Operations experience,

preferably within Transaction processing.

Good Knowledge of Bank of Uganda Clearing guidelines and international transfer procedures.

Key Required Skills

Hands-on experience in back-office Operations

In-depth understanding of Clearing and local transfers

Banking Operations & Control Policies

Good knowledge of local payment systems

Computer proficiency

Analytical/problem solving

Excellent customer services capabilities.

Good Oral and written communication skills.

MS Excel/MS Word/good accounting knowledge & analytical skills.

Demonstrated ability to take initiative and critically analyse processes and procedures
