ILRI Consultancy – Development and implementation of ILRI’s Diversity and Inclusion Program Jobs in Kenya

The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) seeks to recruit a consultant to facilitate the development and implementation of its D&I program. This will include; reviewing the Institute’s current D&I practices and the readiness of the institute to embrace the paradigm shift. The consultant will benchmark with other CG centers, peer organizations as well as other organizations that are progressing D&I.

The International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) works to improve food and nutrition security and reduce poverty in developing countries through research for efficient, safe and sustainable use of livestock. It is the only one of 15 CGIAR research centres dedicated entirely to animal agriculture research for the developing world.


cope of work

  • Carry out an assessment on the current status of ILRI’s D&I policies and practices
    Design a context-based D&I program that is responsive to the needs of ILRI
    Facilitate implementation of the ILRI’s D&I program

    Final products

  • An inception report detailing key observations that will include current ILRI D&I policies and practices, benchmarking results and continuous stakeholder engagement plan.
  • An ILRI diversity & inclusion program to be implemented over time
  • An action plan to embed the D&I in institutional policies, practices, processes and systems
  • Tools for implementation and measurement of success
  • Facilitate engagement fora for feedback and sensitization on D&I
  • Final report


  • Master’s degree in Organizational Psychology, social sciences or related field of study.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the field of Diversity and Inclusion
  • Institutional capacity building experience in Diversity and Inclusion
  • Experience in design and delivery of Diversity and Inclusion initiatives
  • Understanding of D&I practices for international organizations.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate frameworks, programs and action plans
  • Experience in engagement and management of diverse stakeholders
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to work in multi-disciplinary and multicultural settings
