iJenga Quantity Surveyor Job Vacancies in Kenya

Roles

  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client.
  • Undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance project work.
  • Assist in establishing a client’s requirements and undertake feasibility studies.
  • Perform risk, value management and cost control.
  • Advise on a procurement strategy.
  • Identify, analyze and develop responses to commercial risks.
  • Prepare and analyze costings for tenders.
  • Allocate work to subcontractors.
  • Provide advice on contractual claims.
  • Analyze outcomes and write detailed progress reports.
  • Value completed work and arrange payments.
  • Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use.
  • Understand the implications of health and safety regulations.
  • Support operational, office and administrative activities.
  • Offer advice on property taxation.
  • Provide post-occupancy advice,
    facilities management services and life-cycle costing advice.
  • Assist clients in locating and accessing additional and alternative sources of funding.
  • Enable clients to initiate construction projects.
  • Advice on the maintenance costs of specific buildings.

    Job Qualifications

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying.
  • Must be a member of IQSK, BORAQS.
  • 5-6 years experience as Senior QS with a bias in commercial and contractual Management, estimation and tendering in building construction.
  • Should have vast knowledge in cost reporting and contract administration.
  • Excellent in using CCS and other estimation software.
  • Ability to manage FIDIC, JCT and NEC.
  • International exposure with East African experience will be an added advantage.
  • Good team player.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Very keen attention to details.
  • Report writing skills.
