In Nairobi, the Africa Regional Office is based.

From this office most of the African National Societies are supported.

The Africa Regional Office has developed an online Operations Room in which data from our operations and services is made available for various stakeholders.

Goal of the Operations Room is better coordination and planning of emergency response activities.

The IFRC Africa Information Management unit is seeking a National Intern to support the further development of the Operations Room. The position is for 3 months and will be based in the IFRC Nairobi office.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Gather and update data from various internal and external sources
  • Check and verify data used in the Operations Room
  • Develop / improve data visualizations (dashboards) on the Operations Room
  • Design procedures to facilitate regular data updates
  • Documentation of structures and procedures
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
  • Actively work towards the achievement of the Federation's goals.
  • Abide by and work in accordance with the Red Cross Red Crescent principles.
  • Perform any other work-related duties and responsibilities that may be assigned by the line manager.

    Education

  • Master’s Degree in Data and Information Management or related course.
